A word from series director, Mark Perry

This is the second Supaloc Targa Adelaide organised by Octagon, and we are delighted that we have been able to implement a number of innovations for 2012, making it an even better event, both for the teams taking part, but particularly, for the people of South Australia

Our primary goal in 2012 has been to make it easier for everyone to experience first hand the excitement of Targa rallying.

The Intercontinental Adelaide Targa Night Stage, under lights at the Wayville Showgounds on Wednesday night, August 22, does just that.

It will be an action-packed evening, and then after seeing all the cars in action on the three kilometre long stage, fans will be able to attend the Targa Expo - our “pit lane” - and get right up close to those magnificent machines and their drivers.

Then on Friday night, between 6pm and 9pm, we have the The Norwood Parade Targafest Street Party, were everyone can unwind in one of the Adelaide’s premier precincts and enjoy fun and fine food, surrounded by what will be well in excess of $10 million dollars worth of cars on display.

Finally around 1pm on Sunday we have the official finish in Gouger Street where literally everyone will be able to relax and enjoy the party atmosphere.

And for those wanting to see some action out on the roads, head to the Adelaide Hills and witness some of the finest tarmac rally action anywhere in the world. As a host city, Adelaide is blessed with it all, and the Targa family is delighted to be back for another year.

This event could not happen without the support of so many.

Octagon thanks the South Australian government for its support, our naming rights sponsor Supaloc, and the many other companies that have made this event happen.

Of course, it is the drivers and co-drivers who put on the show, and I thank them for coming here in such numbers.

Finally to all the volunteers who give of their time to create a special time everyone, a big thank you. truly, without you, this event would not happen.

Yours Sincerely,

Mark Perry

Denyer thrilled with Showroom triumph

The RDA Brakes Showroom competition went to Grant Denyer and Dale Moscatt after a convincing drive that saw them take victory by 17 minutes.

The pair had trailed the similar Renault of Adam Spence in the early part of the rally, but after Spence went off the road, the result was beyond doubt. Denyer loved everything about the event, and was glowing in his praise.

“With the lead we had today I was thinking about taking it easy and just cruising home, but we somehow finished third fastest outright on Mount Arrowsmith,” Denyer said.
