Targa Tasmania Unique Cars Tour
The established two competitions of Targa Tasmania were joined in 2003 by a new, non competition Touring Group category for rare and exotic historic, Classic and Modern cars. This classy group of vehicles that are invited to participate in Targa Tasmania and are permitted to drive over the course - on closed roads - at the head of the field.
Not everyone wants to drive their vehicles hard nor do they want to risk damaging them. The Tour is just what a large number of people have been asking Octagon for - to be part of the hype of Targa Tasmania and to be allowed to drive on the fantastic Tasmanian roads - but with no competition, no timing, and without the inconvenience or expense of modifying their special interest cars - as the vehicles will be driven over closed Targa Stages at normal road speeds.
There is no doubt that there are some really fabulous historic and old sports cars that are currently hidden away in garages all around the world - and Octagon is particularly keen to get them out of those garages and see them being driven around the magnificent roads of Tasmania.
There are strictly limited places available in this exciting section of Targa Tasmania. Besides bringing a whole new group of cars to Tasmania, Octagon believes that this section will provide potential new competitors in the future. Once they have had a taste of Targa, many will want to try the real thing.
