How do I enter?
Applications are to be lodged with the Octagon Hobart office on the official application form before close of applications specifying the vehicle in which the applicant has nominated to compete; listing the year of the vehicle; plus full details of all modifications made to the original specifications of the vehicle; and be accompanied by an application fee of $800.00, which is non-refundable.
When do applications open and close?
Applications for Targa Tasmania 2010 open 4th May 2009 and close 16th March 2010.

What does the entry fee include?
Entry into the event, AASA insurance, AASA Vehicle Passport, AASA Licences, Metal Number Plates, Door Panels & Event Sponsor Decals, 2 x Merchandise Vouchers, During Event Shuttle Bus, During Event Luggage Truck, entry for Driver & Navigator to the Welcome Party, and Trophy Presentation Dinner along with lunch for each day of the competition.
The entry fee does not include shipping, accommodation, all other meals or fuel.
What licence do I need?
The Tour - AASA Tour Licence
Vintage Rallye, Rookie Rallye & Competition - AASA National Racing Licence (both crew members)
Do I need a roll cage?
Tour Participants do not require roll cages.
Vintage Rallye, Rookie Rallye and Competition require full Australian Standard approved roll over protection systems.
What other equipment will I need?
The Tour will need reflective safety triangles and 1x2kg Fire Extinguisher or 2x1kg Fire Extinguishers.
The Vintage Rallye, Rookie Rallye & Competition will require Reflective Safety Triangles, Fire Extinguishers, First Aid Kit (Red Cross), Throttle Return Spring, Battery Location Sticker, Battery Cut Off Switch and 4, 5 or 6 point Harness's. All vehicles require an AASA Vehicle Passport. Please refer to the Supplementary Regulations for further details.
Does my vehicle need to be registered?
All vehicles must have civil registration, either by full registration or by temporary permit. Special Interest registration is OK. Trade Plates are not OK.
What fuel can I use?
98 Octane fuel (BP Ultimate) is now available at the pump in Tasmania. Only commercial fuels are allowed to be used. Targa Tasmania do not allow fuel over 98 RON or any leaded fuel. Mixing of fuels is not permitted. Fuel additives (Octane Booster) is not permitted. Should you require any assistance with sourcing fuel please contact Targa Tasmania for a list of suppliers..
How long will I be away from work/home?
You will need to be in Tasmania by early morning on Monday 26th April 2010 at the very latest (to complete documentation & scrutiny). The event finishes on Sunday 2nd May 2010 at around 5.00pm with the Trophy Presentation Dinner on Monday night.
I haven't driven competitively before, can I still enter Targa Tasmania?
You will need to have completed another Tarmac Rally, Circuit Racing or a number of Sprint, Club Day's or Hill Climbs. Alternatively, you may complete an advanced driver training course. (Approved Driver Training)
What is a Base Time?
Each Targa Stage has a base time target. If a car finishes on or under the base time, a zero score is recorded. Otherwise, the score is equal to the time by which the base time has been exceeded. Each vehicle's score determines it's position in the field.
What is a Trophy Time?
Each Targa stage is assigned trophy times for each class which is based on vehicle age and engine capacity. The ultimate target for a crew is to finish within the trophy time for their class of vehicle on every Targa Stage. If this is done, each crew member wins a Targa Trophy.
